Hypnotherapy for habits · Melbourne + online

When a familiar pattern feels stronger than choice.

A habit may have begun as comfort, protection, relief or repetition. Understanding what it has been doing can create a more compassionate place from which to work.

Working with patterns

Curiosity before correction.

Hypnotherapy can bring focused attention to the cues, feelings, images and expectations surrounding a habit. Rachel may use conversation, imagery, metaphor and suggestion to help you explore another response.

This work is individual. What looks like the same habit from the outside may serve a very different purpose for each person.

Habits people may bring

People seek support around smoking, drinking, gambling, food, repetitive behaviours and other urges. Suitability depends on your circumstances, and some concerns need medical, addiction or specialist mental-health care alongside—or instead of—hypnotherapy.

Your autonomy

The hypnotic state comes from you.

You generate the hypnotic state through your own mind and body. Rachel offers pathways in through her calm voice, focused attention, imagery and therapeutic language. She does not take control or force a new behaviour into place. You remain able to think, speak, disagree, pause and choose what feels useful.

The first appointment includes time to understand the pattern, discuss fit and decide on a sensible starting plan. Outcomes and the number of sessions vary.

Bring the loop. We can become curious about the way in.

Appointments are available in Northcote and online. If you would prefer to talk first, a free 20-minute conversation is also available.

Every person is different and outcomes vary. Hypnotherapy does not replace medical, addiction or mental-health care. Please speak with an appropriate clinician about symptoms or risks requiring specialist support. This is not a crisis service.
